Fill a test tube with pond water, close it with your finger, and shake it vigorously. Compare the color change with the color scale on the card: If the water turns blue, the KH value is sufficient (greater than 5 °dH). If the water turns yellow, the KH value is too low and should be increased using TeichFit or AquaStab. Use the second test tube to check the KH value after application.

The KH Quick Test provides a quick overview of the carbonate hardness of the water, which should always be sufficiently high (at least 5 °dH). The KH Quick Test is sufficient for two applications.
Instructions for determining carbonate hardness
1. Fill a test tube with pond water.
2. Seal the top with your finger and shake vigorously. It is best to determine the respective color by looking directly into the tube opening and comparing it with the color values printed on the card.
Possibilities
The water turns blue.
The carbonate hardness is sufficiently high (KH is greater than 5 °dH).
The water turns yellow.
The carbonate hardness is too low. TeichFit or AquaStab will establish a carbonate hardness above 5 °dH in no time. With the second test tube, you can check the KH value after using TeichFit or AquaStab.
