Surface pretreatment:

• The pipe ends must be cut off at right angles, beveled and deburred (see illustration). If the pipe bevel is missing or incorrect, a permanently tight connection cannot be achieved.
• Fine cleaning is carried out with Tangit PVC-U/C/ABS cleaner.

Processing:

• Stir Tangit well before use. The adhesive should flow slowly from a stick held at an angle, forming a kind of adhesive plume. Apply an even, continuous layer of adhesive in the axial direction, first into the socket, then onto the pipe.
• Apply a thin layer of Tangit to the socket to avoid detrimental bulging in the pipe; Apply generously to the end of the pipe. With Tangit PVC-U, tolerances of up to +0.6 mm can be bridged according to DIN EN 14814.
• Immediately push the pipe and sleeve together as far as they will go or to the full depth of the sleeve without twisting/tilting each other and hold them there for a few seconds until the adhesive has set.
• Immediately after assembly, remove excess adhesive with cleaning paper. Due to the rapid setting of the adhesive, the parts to be joined must be pushed together within 4 minutes of the start of the adhesive application.
• Due to the smaller amount of adhesive when using Tangit tubes, the pipe dimensions to be glued should not be larger than DN 80.
• For dimensions from DN 80, two people should apply the adhesive to the pipe and socket at the same time. The open time of Tangit, i.e. the time from the start of the adhesive application to the joining of the parts, depends on the film thickness of the adhesive and/or the ambient temperature.

A notice:

• Before commissioning, the pipes must be thoroughly flushed to remove any solvent vapors that may still be present.
• Tangit PVC-U is ready for use and must not be diluted under any circumstances.
• Tangit PVC-U and Tangit PVC-U/C/ABS cleaners have an effect on PVC-U. Therefore, keep pipes and fittings away from any spilled adhesive/cleaner.
• Immediately close containers that are not in use tightly to avoid solvent loss and thickening. Any adhesive film that may be present must be removed. Wipe off any thickened adhesive sticking to the brush with dry fleece paper. Cleaned brushes must be dry before reuse.

Tangit PVC-U/C/ABS cleaner

Tangit cleaner: For cleaning hard PVC pipes before they are glued with Tangit. Tangit cleaner is based on acetone and butanone. Tangit cleaner is free of methylene chloride, better for people and the environment!

Tangit Uni-Lock universal seal

The universal seal for screw thread connections. Consists of multi-strand nylon cord that is impregnated with a silicone solution that ensures sealing of metals and plastics.
