The OASE AquaMax Eco Gravity is a filter pump designed for gravity-fed systems in koi ponds and garden ponds. It is available in 10000, 15000, and 20000 versions, with flow rates of up to 10,000, 15,000, and 18,000 l/h respectively. It moves large volumes of water at a low head height while consuming only 65 to 120 watts. The pump can be installed submerged or dry.

Which pump is right for your system?
In a gravity-fed system, the pond water flows into the filter automatically via the bottom drain. The pump is positioned after the filter and returns the cleaned water to the pond. The head height is therefore usually low: it extends from the water level in the pump chamber to the pond inlet. Pipes and elbows also result in a loss of performance. The characteristic curve shows how much each model pumps at a given height:

| Model | max. l/h | max. head height | at 1 m approx. | at 2 m approx. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10000 | 10,000 | 1.3 m | 4,200 l/h | – |
| 15000 | 15,000 | 1.8 m | 10,100 l/h | – |
| 20000 | 18,000 | 2.2 m | 12,600 l/h | 3,400 l/h |
The values at 1 and 2 m were read from the OASE characteristic curve and rounded. The 10000 and 15000 models cannot reach 2 m. For higher head heights, the AquaMax Eco Premium or AquaMax Eco Expert are more suitable. Our advice for koi ponds: The pump should circulate the entire pond volume through the filter about once every one to two hours at your actual head height.
How the AquaMax Eco Gravity works
- For gravity-fed systems: According to OASE, the Gravity is perfectly matched to gravity-fed filter systems. It moves a large volume of water at a low head height and requires little electricity.
- Stainless steel pump guard: A stainless steel filter basket allows debris particles of up to 6 mm to pass through.
- Adapter included: A connection set for hoses (50 mm/2″ and DA 63) and pipes (DN 75 and DN 110) is included.
- Extra stable: The mounting and stand base is removable.
- Dry-run protection: The OASE Environmental Function Control protects the pump in the event of blockage or dry running.
- Winter-proof: according to OASE down to −20 °C.
- Submerged or dry: The pump operates submerged or dry; according to OASE, it can also be used in an external pump chamber on a swimming pond.
Compatible with UVC and filters
The Bitron Premium is made for gravity-fed systems. It has DN 110 connections and can be installed before or after the filter. For large gravity-fed systems, the AquaMax Eco Titanium is available with up to 81,000 l/h.
Frequently asked questions
Which AquaMax Eco Gravity do I need?
This depends on the pond size and head height. Use the characteristic curve to determine how much the pump will still deliver at your height. In a koi pond, it should be enough to circulate the pond contents once every one to two hours.
Why does the Gravity hardly deliver anything at 2 m?
It is built for low head heights. In gravity-fed systems, the pump usually only needs to lift the water slightly, which is where it delivers high volumes with low power consumption. For streams or higher-situated filters, an AquaMax Eco Premium or Expert is more suitable.
What connections does the pump have?
The suction and pressure sides are G 2. A set of adapters for hoses (50 mm/2″ and DA 63) and pipes (DN 75 and DN 110) is included in the scope of delivery.
How long is the warranty?
OASE provides a 3-year warranty. If you register the pump after purchase via the OASE product registration, it will be extended by 2 years to a total of 5 years. This requires purchase from an authorized OASE specialist dealer such as Koi-Area. The terms and conditions can be found in the OASE warranty conditions. Your statutory warranty rights toward Koi-Area remain unaffected.
