The OASE Vitronic is a UVC clarifier for garden ponds and small koi ponds with 11 to 55 watts of UVC power. It combats suspended algae, bacteria, and germs and can be combined with almost any standard commercial filter. For koi ponds, it is suitable for 2.5 to 15 m³, depending on the model.
Which model is right for your pond?
With koi, the deciding factor is not the maximum pond size, but the koi value. Koi place a significantly higher load on the water through food and waste than a few goldfish. OASE therefore provides three values:

Our advice: The Vitronic is too small for koi ponds over 15 m³. In that case, the Bitron C with automatic quartz glass cleaning or the Bitron Eco for koi ponds up to 60 m³ are suitable.
How the Vitronic works
- Quick-release fastener: Change the lamp and clean the quartz glass without tools.
- Visual check: You can see at any time from the outside whether the UVC lamp is lit.
- Directly on the filter: According to OASE, the 18 to 36 W models can be mounted directly onto a BioSmart filter.
- Robust: The housing is made of impact-resistant plastic. Extensive accessories are included for connection.
- Safe: According to OASE, the device is 100% protected against eye damage.
UVC and filters belong together
The Vitronic does not replace a filter. The UVC light damages the suspended algae; they clump together and are subsequently retained in the filter. In pumped systems, the device is therefore placed between the pump and the filter. For gravity-fed systems with a bottom drain, the Bitron Premium is the right choice.
A small OASE AquaMax Eco Classic, for example, is a suitable pump. The pump should not exceed the maximum flow rate of the Vitronic: 1,700 l/h for 11 W, 3,500 l/h for 18 W, 4,500 l/h for 24 W, 6,000 l/h for 36 W, and 8,500 l/h for 55 W.
Tip: Suspended algae grow primarily when there is a lot of phosphate in the water. BHK Teichmineral binds phosphate and thus tackles the root cause.

Spare parts and maintenance
You can change the lamp and clean the quartz glass using the quick-release fastener. We recommend changing the UVC lamp before every new season because UVC performance decreases with operating hours. We would be happy to source the matching replacement lamp for your Vitronic.
Frequently asked questions
Which Vitronic fits my koi pond?
According to OASE, the 11 W is sufficient for koi ponds up to 2.5 m³, the 18 W up to 5 m³, the 24 W up to 6.5 m³, the 36 W up to 10 m³, and the 55 W up to 15 m³. For larger koi ponds, we recommend the Bitron C or the Bitron Eco.
Does the Vitronic replace a pond filter?
No. The UVC light causes suspended algae to clump together; only the filter then removes them from the water. The Vitronic therefore always works in conjunction with a filter.
Where is the Vitronic installed?
In pumped systems, between the pump and the filter. The 18 to 36 W models can be mounted directly onto an OASE BioSmart.
When should I change the UVC lamp?
We recommend changing it before every new season. You can check if the lamp is lit at any time via the visual check.
Is UVC light dangerous for fish?
No. The radiation only acts on the water flowing through inside the closed housing.
What is the warranty?
OASE provides a 2-year manufacturer warranty. The conditions can be found in the OASE warranty conditions. Your statutory warranty rights towards Koi-Area remain unaffected by this.
