The OASE AquaMax Eco Expert is a filter and watercourse pump designed for large koi ponds and sophisticated filter systems, with a capacity of 21,000 to 44,000 l/h. It achieves a head height of up to 9.5 m and can be controlled electronically. The pump can be installed submerged in the pond or dry in a pump chamber.
Which pump is right for your pond?
The deciding factor is not the maximum flow rate, but what remains at your specific head height. The height is measured from the water surface to the inlet of the filter or watercourse. Hoses and elbows also result in performance loss. The performance curve shows how much each model delivers at what height:

The values at 1 and 2 m were read from the OASE performance curve and rounded. The Expert loses little performance up to 2 m head height; its strength lies in long pipelines and high watercourses. Our advice for koi ponds: the pump should circulate the entire pond volume through the filter about once every one to two hours at your actual head height.
How the AquaMax Eco Expert works
- Seasonal Flow Control: Switch on the SFC function, and the pump adjusts the flow rate and head height based on the water temperature. According to OASE, this saves up to 30% in energy costs.
- Electronically controllable: You can adjust the output via the OASE Control App, which requires a Garden Controller Cloud or InScenio FM-Master Cloud. Alternatively, you can control the pump with the OASE Eco Control.
- Stainless steel filter basket: The robust stainless steel basket allows plant debris and fish waste up to 11 mm to pass through.
- Dry-run protection: The OASE Environmental Function Control protects the pump in the event of a blockage or dry run.

Compatible with UVC and filters
Many UVC clarifiers require a minimum flow rate and can only withstand a certain amount of pressure. The Bitron Eco works with 10,000 to 50,000 l/h and up to 1 bar. Yes. According to OASE, the Expert is built for both submerged and dry installation, for example in a pump chamber.
What is the benefit of Seasonal Flow Control?
When switched on, the pump adjusts its output to the water temperature. In cold water, it reduces the flow rate, saving up to 30% in electricity according to OASE.
How long is the warranty?
OASE grants a 3-year warranty. If you register the pump after purchase via the OASE product registration, it is extended by 2 years to a total of 5 years.
