Information
This offer consists of selected Tosai from Japan, i.e., young Japanese koi in their first year of life. The koi come from renowned Japanese breeders in Japan's well-known koi breeding regions, in particular from the Niigata area as well as from selected farms in the south of Japan. Every koi is a Japan Koi and was born in Japan.
Our co-import boxes offer the opportunity to acquire high-quality Japanese koi at a particularly attractive co-import price. The selection is made by our experienced team based on the respective quality, variety, and size class offered.
The koi will be ready for collection or shipping from spring 2027 (expected March 2027). A more precise date can be announced from the end of January 2027. By this time, they will have already completed the full, professional quarantine of at least 5 weeks. Veterinary care is provided by Dr. Rob Heymanns.
Shipping boxes for Tosai
Depending on the size of the koi, up to 25 Tosai can be shipped together in one shipping box. This figure refers exclusively to the capacity of our transport boxes. The koi are not pre-assembled as a fixed box but are individually packed for shipping according to your order.

Important notes on the co-import
This offer applies exclusively to co-import boxes from our online sales. The prices offered are valid online only and do not apply to the sale or individual selection of koi in our koi hall. The price includes the koi as well as the keeping, care, and preparation until 30.04.2027.
The boxes shown in the product images serve as examples of the quality, composition, and size class offered. You will not necessarily receive the exact koi shown in the respective photo.
The koi will be put together for your co-import box by our team according to the quality shown. Individual selection or choosing of individual koi is not possible with this offer.
The specially calculated co-import price is explicitly for this form of composition. A selection of specific fish, patterns, genders, or individual koi is excluded at this price. We do not offer preferred or better selection within this offer, even for an additional charge.
If you would like to select your koi individually on-site, you can do so independently of the co-import offers during our regular opening hours in the koi hall. The prices marked on-site apply there.
Shipping & Pickup
After placing your order, it is mandatory to schedule your own pick-up or shipping date via our online booking portal for the 2026/2027 season. Please book your appointment independently and contact us well in advance if you have any questions. The booking portal will open at the start of the season in October 2026. We recommend booking your preferred pick-up or shipping date early.
What are Tosai?
Tosai refers to young koi from Japan that are still in their first year of life. Our Tosai come directly from renowned Japanese breeders and are specially selected for import to Europe. Especially with Tosai, their future development is particularly exciting: body shape, color, and pattern can still change significantly as they grow.
Holding
If you would like to take possession of your koi at a later date, it can continue to be kept at our facility. The boarding service is free of charge up to and including April 30, 2027. Therefore, there are no additional costs for boarding during this period. From May 1, 2027, further boarding will be subject to a charge. The additional costs incurred for this depend on the duration of the further boarding and are calculated per koi and are listed below:
