The OASE AquaMax Eco Premium 12 V is a filter and watercourse pump for swimming and bathing ponds, koi ponds, and garden ponds. It is available as a 6000 and a 12000 model, with capacities of up to 6,000 and 11,400 l/h, respectively. The pump operates on 12 volts via an included power supply unit and can be installed submerged in the pond or dry in a pump chamber.
Which pump is right for your pond?
The decisive factor is not the maximum flow rate, but rather what remains at your specific head height. The height is measured from the water surface to the inlet of the filter or watercourse. Hoses and bends cause additional performance loss. The performance curve shows how much each model pumps at different heights:
| Model | max. l/h | max. head height | at 1 m approx. | at 2 m approx. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6000 / 12 V | 6,000 | 3.2 m | 4,100 l/h | 2,200 l/h |
| 12000 / 12 V | 11,400 | 3.2 m | 7,800 l/h | 4,200 l/h |
We read the values at 1 and 2 m from the OASE performance curve and rounded them. Our advice for koi ponds: The pump should circulate the entire pond volume through the filter about once every one to two hours, at your actual head height.
How the AquaMax Eco Premium 12 V works
- 12-volt technology: The pump itself runs on 12-volt DC, with the power supply unit located outside the pond. According to OASE, this makes it suitable for swimming and bathing ponds.
- Adjustable performance: You can regulate the flow rate mechanically directly on the pump between 0 and 100%.
- Second inlet: Via a patented second connection, the pump can additionally draw in water from a satellite filter or a surface skimmer.
- Dry-run protection: The OASE Environmental Function Control detects dry running or blockages and switches the pump off.
- Frost-proof: down to −20 °C, according to OASE.
- Dirt is no problem: The pump transports plant debris and fish waste up to 10 mm (6000) or 11 mm (12000) directly to the filter.
Compatible with filters and skimmers
With a satellite filter, the pump can draw in water from a second location on the pond floor. This allows it to pull debris from other pond zones into the filter as well.
Frequently asked questions
Which AquaMax Eco Premium 12 V do I need?

Is the power supply unit included?
Yes, the power supply unit is included. OASE specifies the cable length as 2.5 m (power supply) plus 8 m.
Can I adjust the performance?
