About us
🐟 About Us – Koi Area
Big vision. Big facility. But a family business at heart.
Koi Area stands for passion, experience, and true dedication to the koi hobby. What may look like Europe's largest koi facility from the outside is, at its core, something entirely different: a well-coordinated team with family values that works with heart and soul every day to offer our customers the best possible quality.
Because for us, it's not just about fish –
it’s about trust, enthusiasm, and a love for detail. 💧
🇯🇵 Our passion begins in Japan
Our journey begins where the best koi in the world are created: in Japan.
We select every single fish personally on-site – with a trained eye, years of experience, and a clear standard for quality, body conformation, and color development.
For us, it's not just the first impression that counts, but above all the potential of a koi. Because we know:
A truly good koi develops over time – and that is exactly where the fascination lies. 🏆
🐟 Quality you can see – and feel
In our facility, you can expect an extraordinary selection of koi of various varieties – from promising Tosai to impressive jumbo koi.
But just as important as the selection is our husbandry:
✔️ modern facility
✔️ clear, healthy water
✔️ optimal conditions for every single fish
Because only when the koi feel comfortable can they reach their full potential.
🤝 Personal. Honest. Approachable.
Despite our size, we place great value on what defines us:
personal contact.
With us, you are not just a number –
we take the time to provide honest advice and support you on your journey with your pond, whether you are a beginner or a long-time koi enthusiast.
That is exactly what our customers appreciate:
a combination of expertise, honesty, and genuine enthusiasm for what we do.
💙 More than just a shop
Koi Area is more than just a place to buy koi.
It is a place for exchange, inspiration, and shared passion.
Whether on-site in our hall or online –
we want to create a space where everything revolves around one thing:
the fascination of koi.
✨ A new milestone – our new koi facility
With the opening of our new facility, we have reached a very special milestone in our history.
What once started small has now grown into Europe's largest koi facility – a step we are incredibly proud of.
Those who still know us from our time in Neuss know exactly where we started: with a lot of passion, hard work, and a clear vision. Since then, we have consistently developed – always with the goal of offering our koi and our customers the best possible conditions.
With our new, state-of-the-art facility, we are achieving exactly that:
✨ optimal water quality
✨ state-of-the-art technology
✨ significantly more space for every single koi
Because only under perfect conditions can our fish develop in the best possible way and reach their full potential.
For us, this step is not just growth –
but a clear sign that we are consistently continuing our path:
getting better and better without forgetting our roots. 💙🐟
